Local archeologist / historian Ken Dash has written a new book, “The Story of Meersbrook Hall”. Published by Friends of Meersbrook Hall, all proceeds go towards re-opening and restoring the hall
This is the story of Meersbrook Hall, a Georgian mansion built in 1759 for Benjamin Rosebuck and occupied by the Shore family from 1778 and the Milner family from 1864, before it became the Ruskin Museum in 1890. Its history goes back two and a half centuries, from the start of the Industrial Revolution, when Sheffield was a small market town, through to modern times.
