Great news ! We’ve got our first grant of £1,000 from the Council’s Local Area Committee for items to support our newly revived organisation towards our ambition of reopening the hall to the public, including the publication of our book, ‘The Story of Meersbrook Hall’ by Ken Dash, which will be coming soon with the help of our supporter Chris Brydone.
The Ruskin Society have also offered us a small grant of £200 towards the book.
We’re still working with the council on a timetable and issues required for the reopening, so please keep an eye open for updates.
We’re also planning a Community Picnic on Sunday September 13th at the hall with some live music and other entertainment, the details of which are still being finalised. More details soon on this.
We’re very grateful to our local councillors Marieanne Elliot, Paul Turpin and Alexi Dimond for their support for our plans for reopening the hall for community use.
