On Saturday 20th June, we were invited to have a stall at the annual Small Park, Big Run event in Meersbrook Park in aid of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign.
It was the first time the members of the public and participants in the event learned of the new initiative to reopen the hall. We engaged with many people about our plans. A number of new members also signed up to join our friends group and several people told us they were ready and willing to use the hall for various activities and events when we eventuallly secure access and use.
Andy Kershaw was also invited to speak at the event and he made it clear that joining The Friends of Meersbrook Hall was a key way to strengthen our voice as a community for these aims.
We hope that we can work with organisers of next years event to ensure that access to the hall is integrated into the weekend.
